ABC’s Martha Raddatz reported from Wisconsin on Sunday where she interviewed a black female voter who revealed that she is leaning towards voting for former President Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris. The voter expressed a preference for Trump, citing Harris’s overlapping policies with Trump when she copied his proposal for no tax on tips. The voter also accused Harris of being “caught up in a lot of lies.”
This interview is part of Raddatz’s ongoing tour through key battleground states to gather voter perspectives on the upcoming election. Since Kamala Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee, Trump’s previously significant lead over Joe Biden has diminished, resulting in a tight race between Trump and Harris both nationally and in key battleground states.
“From the moment our trip began, we could see the change — the flip from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris energized and enthused the party,” Raddatz said.
However, Harris's honeymoon phase appears to be coming to a close. The voter sentiment in Wisconsin reflects growing skepticism about Harris, and former CNN host Don Lemon’s recent interviews in Atlantic City that went viral show similar trends. Lemon questioned a number of voters who said they hope Trump will secure a victory over Harris in November. The most commonly cited reason for this belief among those interviewed by Lemon was the economy.
