El Paso alone expects 18,000 migrants to cross every day should the Supreme Court allow Title 42 to expire.
In anticipation of those staggering numbers, a source not authorized to speak to the press told Brietbart Media that the Department of Homeland Security has decided to brush the issue under the rug by issuing a gag order to Custom and Border Protection managers, forbidding them from releasing the number of migrant apprehensions to the public without DHS approval.
The directive was issued on Monday and took immediate effect.
The effects of the order can be seen already in the reports being issued by Border patrol. See these weekend update posts by US Border Patrol Chief Peter Jaquez:
Before the order, he reports 2,460 apprehensions for illegal crossing:

Across the #ElPaso Sector, our diligent agents:
• foiled 12 smuggling schemes
• apprehended 57 migrants from those schemes
• 15 human smugglers apprehended @CBP pic.twitter.com/NK1msp6SrF
So while allowing more border crossings than our nation has seen in its history, with total control of the border crossing narrative, the Biden administration's border numbers should look real cozy come the 2024 elections.
