This is according to excerpts from a book titled The Fight of His Life,obtained by Politico.
“In the first months of his presidency, Joe Biden vented his frustration” about Harris, “telling a friend that she was ‘a work in progress,'” the outlet writes.
The book is touted as pulling “back the curtain on the internal power struggles and back-room compromises” and providing an inside scoop on what the President “really thinks of [Harris], the press, and living in the White House.”

Another revelation from the book, if you can call it that, is that Biden was put off by complaints from Kamala Harris’s husband, Douglas Emhoff.
Emhoff griped about her role in the administration as those close to her felt the tasks being assigned were hurting her politically.
“Biden was annoyed,” the book’s author writes.
“He hadn’t asked Harris to do anything he hadn’t done as vice president — and she’d begged him for the voting rights assignment,” it continued.
Harris was dubbed Biden’s immigration czar and led the administration’s push for federal voting rights legislation. She failed on both fronts, leading to a border crisis of historic proportions and hitting a “brick wall” on election reform due to the filibuster.
