Former President Donald Trump was the favorite among the GOP contenders for president in a straw poll at TPUSA's AmericaFest. Trump took 82.6 percent of the vote. Tucker Carlson won top pick for US Vice President, taking 35 percent of the vote.
The poll ran during the Phoenix conference from Dec. 16 to 19, and was sponsored by Turning Point Action during AmFest 2023.
Coming in a distant second to Trump was Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 7.6 percent. Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy took 5.88 percent, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley garnered 1.1 percent while former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was at 0.1 percent. 2.5 percent were undecided and 0.3 percent preferred someone else.
