Biden camp claims Trump 'thinks his best case is made in urine' following call for pre-debate drug tests

Kate Bedingfield dismissed President Trump's demands that each candidate take a drug test prior to the debate on Tuesday. She claimed his drug test request was a distraction from larger issues, including the coronavirus pandemic.

"Vice President Biden intends to deliver his debate answers in words. If the president thinks his best case is made in urine he can have at it," she wrote in a statement on Sunday night. "We’d expect nothing less from Donald Trump, who pissed away the chance to protect the lives of 200K Americans when he didn't make a plan to stop COVID-19.”

Trump suggested on Sunday morning that Biden had performed poorly in the first debates of the Democratic primary because he was not properly medicated. He said that Biden performed well against Sen. Bernie Sanders only because he was being medicated.

"I will be strongly demanding a Drug Test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to, or after, the Debate on Tuesday night. Naturally, I will agree to take one also. His Debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN, to put it mildly. Only drugs could have caused this discrepancy???" Trump tweeted.
